- Its worth the time needed to play it.
The Witcher games have always been a vast open world game series but non compare to the likes of Skyrim in the case of side quests and random events, the Witcher maps have the size as always but wild hunt feels a lot more alive out in the wilderness.
Playing the game for less then 15 minutes (excluding tutorial and story set up) I ventured around with a companion and was thrown right into battle against some wolves and ghouls of such before being brutally flung around by a griffin!
Having now played a few days worth I have picked up many sides quests keeping me busy and distracted from the main story line to say this game will have my attention for more then a couple of months at least and I will love every minute of it.
- The immersive characters
Unlike my favorite types of games are custom character building RPGS that take up a couple of hours trying to make your player look like you, the Witcher gives you a set character, whose loved nether the less but I will always prefer customer players. However Garalt of Rivia isn’t your typical Lara Croft or Master chief story character. The game has a massively open and immersive armor and crafting system making it easy to make Garalt look exactly how you want.
The NPC’s are a real selling point of this game as their dialogue trees and quest lines are so expansive and brilliant you cant help but get lost in this fantasy world full of moody war torn characters who remember every last detail about the way you played your game and sometimes throw it back in your face!
- Beginner friendly
The wither series is renowned for being a difficult game to learn with all the many, many enemy types and potions to be used along side menus that could confuse R2D2 himself! But Wild hunt revamped their entire menu and combat system to help new players to the series get a foothold and learn as they play.
- Stunning graphics
This game goes beyond expectations with graphics even with the recent discovery of the graphics being heavily downgraded for each platform. The game still looks breathtaking riding through the country side watching the sun set before being ambushed by a bunch of mud dripping ghouls! Any platform he game is bought on looks great but PC will always look fantastic!
- The combat!
Now like I said The Witcher series is known for being extremely complicated and difficult and that is enough to turn most players off for good, however most gamers like the challenge of real combat and due to dark souls success some people have a fetish for it! Dark souls is a really good game to compare the combat to as it’s all based around dodging and stunning and waiting for the time to strike without being greedy with your hit. There’s never a dull moment in the heaps of fights you will encounter along your journeys!
